Are you a woman who wants to grow as a leader while making
a meaningful difference in your community?
The Soroptimist Leadership Institute (SLI) is designed to help women develop leadership skills, build confidence, and connect with a supportive network of inspiring women.
Through mentorship, workshops, and hands-on volunteer experience, SLI participants gain the tools and experience needed to become strong leaders — both personally and professionally.
What is the Soroptimist Leadership Institute?
The Soroptimist Leadership Institute is a mentorship and leadership development program offered by Soroptimist International of Victoria Westshore.
Participants are sponsored by our club and welcomed into the Soroptimist community as interns during the program.
As an SLI participant, you will:
Attend leadership development workshops
Connect with experienced women leaders
Participate in Soroptimist volunteer initiatives
Build leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Explore your personal goals and strengths
This experience offers a unique opportunity to learn by doing, while contributing to programs that improve the lives of women and girls.

Program Expectations
The Soroptimist Leadership Institute is a collaborative experience. Participants are asked to actively engage in the program and the club community. SLI participants are expected to:
Attend three or more leadership workshops each year
Attend and participate in club meetings, held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month.
Meet with your assigned club mentor
Participate in at least one club committee and volunteer at events connected to that committee
Participate in a meeting with club leadership and provide a short reflection
These experiences provide valuable insight into leadership, governance, and community service.
A Pathway to Soroptimist Membership
The Soroptimist Leadership Institute is designed as a pathway to deeper engagement with Soroptimist.
Participants are asked to maintain membership with Soroptimist International of Victoria Westshore for at least one year after completing the internship, helping continue the mission of improving the lives of women and girls.
