We believe in the power of educating women and girls by providing
cash education awards to help self-identified women obtain
skills-training and education necessary to improve their employment
and career prospects, leading to financial stability.

IMPROVING FOOD SECURITY
INNOVATIVE FOOD RESCUE INITIATIVES
Each week, our dedicated volunteers pick up food from the
Mustard Seed Food Share Network and use it throughout our food rescue projects:
*Stella’s Lunches for seniors
*SIster’s Preserves community outreach and fundraising
*Food Boxes for families and seniors
*Cooked & Prepared Meals for Seniors

STELLA’S LUNCHES
Held 4 times per year, Stella’s Lunches reduce senior isolation while providing
a healthy meal, companionship, and entertainment. The event raises awareness
about food insecurity and is one way to help seniors move out of poverty.

SISTERS PRESERVES
SIsters Preserves is an innovative approach to food security, by converting rescued food into canned products, including preserves and pickles, which are then sold by donation and profits are returned to the community through Soroptimist Victoria Westshore’s programs and services.

MEALS FOR SENIORS
Our dedicated, food-safe-certified Cooking Squad prepares hundreds of meals each month for seniors in our community. In partnership with Better at Homes, clients receive healthy, balanced and nutritious meals for reheating at their convenience. All seniors say our meals are their favorite!

FOOD BOXES - FEEDING FAMILIES
Community food boxes are assembled for more than 35 families and seniors each month. Individuals who do not have the means to attend Food Banks during regular hours. or seniors with mobility issues.
Food Boxes contain rescued fresh and frozen food, and we purchase additional proteins, toiletries and school snacks.
