A Heartwarming Blend of Community, Cuisine, and Contribution

We completed our first-ever food security event called Soups On! It was a resounding success thanks to the incredible teamwork behind it.

We hosted 100 attendees for a gross revenue of $5,000, which included proceeds from the sales of preserves and baked goods, raising a total of $4,500 for the club programs.

Ten different types of soup were on offer, from three local chefs, all of whom generously donated their time and expertise.

  • Chef Sam from Royal Colwood Golf Club

  • Chef Jonathan from Jonathan Bull and Son

  • Chef Thomas from Sooke Community Kitchen

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to these chefs for their invaluable contributions.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, live music was provided by two talented grade nine students, who captivated the audience with their piano performances, including delightful duets.

The handmade pottery bowls, generously provided free of charge by local artisans, were a highlight of the event. With a diverse selection of sizes and colours, these bowls were immensely popular among attendees, further enhancing the Soups On experience.

We will certainly be hosting another Soup's On event in the future and look forward to working with all those who generously contributed again. Stay tuned!
